The CMS 60 C has all the features expected of an expensive, bedside "sats monitor" but with a price tag to match its diminutive size!

It even has two different sized sensors included to enable monitoring of infant, paediatric and adult patients.

The full colour display is one of the clearest and most attractive we seen and features a 2-way "rotate-able" display to allow the readings to be viewed from all angles. This makes it equally suited to self testing and testing by carers in the home environment.

The simple, 4 button operation with on screen menu makes it quick & easy for spot checks but also allows the user to access the other unique features of this device.

If continuous monitoring of oxygen saturation and/or pulse rate is required, the menu allows the user to adjust the high and low alarm limits. This means that if the readings obtained change to a level outside these limits, audible and visual alarms will be triggered as a warning.

The audible pulse bleep can also be switched on or off to suit the monitoring circumstances.

Furthermore, a flash memory is incorporated that will store up to 24 hours of data which can be downloaded to a PC using the USB cable supplied and the SpO2 software, which is included on a CD. The software also allows real time data transfer.

Lastly, to save having to keep changing batteries, the CMS 60 C has an internal 3.7V Rechargeable Lithium Polymer Battery that can be recharged via the USB lead when connected to either the USB port of a computer or the 2 pin Euro mains charger block supplied.

USB charging capability is becoming widespread among mobile phones, PDA's & MP3 music players and a whole host of aftermarket mains, car & USB charging devices are available from a wide variety of shops & internet resellers. Whilst these aren't usually designated as being "medically approved" chargers (and therefore aren't designed to power a medical device "whilst connected to a patient") they can permit the battery to be recharged when away from your PC.

The innovative CMS 60 C is an extremely compact and easy to use handheld Pulse Oximeter designed primarily for checking oxygen saturation and pulse rate levels in the home, where comfort and lightweight are desirable.
