Learn More About Spirometry
What is Spirometry?
Spirometry is a simple, straightforward breathing test used to help diagnose and monitor certain lung conditions, most commonly COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) by measuring how much air a patient can exhale in one forced breath.
It is also helpful in monitoring the severity of some other respiratory conditions and the lungs’ response to treatment.
What is a Spirometer?
The breathing tests are carried out using a device called a Spirometer, which is regularly used by trained healthcare professionals in both Primary and Secondary care settings.
